Dreamy, Retro Fashion Photoshoot -- Celebrating milestones and connecting with your audience (and friends!) on social media can lead to some unexpected and delightful surprises. As a photographer who recently passed 500 followers on Instagram, I decided to show my appreciation by hosting a giveaway photoshoot. The lucky winner of this giveaway was the remarkable Lexi Fox, model and photographer, and together, we embarked on a journey to capture timeless elegance in the heart of Kansas City.
Lexi came to me with a charming idea for our photoshoot: she was inspired by a black-and-white polka-dot dress that reminded her of one of her role models in all things, the iconic Audrey Hepburn. This classic, elegant look served as our anchor for the entire shoot, setting the stage for a day of capturing beauty and grace - and her lovely film camera.
Lexi suggested a gorgeous part of the city she's shot in the past, and we decided to head to that unique neighborhood in Kansas City known for its antique and mid-century architecture. This location would provide the perfect blend of classic and vintage aesthetics.
On photo day, the skies were overcast, but Lexi was shining. Armed with her polka-dot dress and killer heels, Lexi was ready to step into the world of classic Hollywood elegance. We arrived at our chosen neighborhood, excited to explore and capture the essence of our inspiration.
As we walked through the neighborhood, we couldn't help but be captivated by the unique architecture that surrounded us. The houses exuded character and charm, perfectly complementing Lexi's classic attire. We couldn't resist the urge to pause and take photos in front of these time-worn beauties.
Adding a touch of nature to our photoshoot, we noticed beautiful sunflowers and zinnias in the area. These vibrant flowers brought life to our black-and-white theme, creating a stunning contrast. Lexi gracefully posed amongst the blooms, capturing a sense of timeless beauty combined with the fleeting beauty of nature.
Throughout the day, Lexi absolutely slayed every pose, channeling her inner Audrey. The classic charm of her polka-dot dress, the mid-century architecture, and the vibrant flowers all merged seamlessly, creating an atmosphere of timeless elegance.
